SUMMARY

The Construction Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all construction personnel to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. Supervises all trade and field work ensuring construction safety practices with all on-site activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
  • Prepares schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list.
  • Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy. Rectifies job site hazards immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • 5-7+ years related construction experience.
  • Federal construction experience a plus

  • OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid Certifications required.
  • CQM certification from USACE or NAVFAC is a plus

Project Administrator

Now Hiring: Project Administrator

SUMMARY

The Project Administrator reports to the Project Manager and Finance Department. The Project Admin. primarily assists the SPM/PM as well as other project team staff in administering contracts. The PA creates and maintains tracking of all administrative contract activity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Sets up new Proposal and Job folders (electronic and hard files as well as for PM’s)
  • Sets up calendar reminders for RFI’s, Bid Due, Site walks, meetings as needed
  • Prepares, Requests & tracks bid bonds, P&P Bonds
  • Sends and tracks subcontractor packets, including review of forms received for completion – notifies PM and Owner of issues if lacking in compliance
  • Reviews and maintains compliance for subcontractor insurance – notifies PM of expirations/issues
  • Tracks subcontracts issued and signed, maintains electronic and hard copies
  • FSRS subcontractor report submitted monthly to corporate
  • Preps proposal docs for signature, checks for amendments, separates sections needed for review if technical requirements need noted, Reps Certs completed etc.
  • Assists Estimator/PM by calling subs, sending invitations to bid, following up for confirmed bidders
  • Creates and Maintains electronic and hard copy master & job files for subs
  • Maintains Active Job List (tracking)
  • Sends, tracks, processes base access clearance paperwork for subcontractors
  • Assists in preparing billings to customer, submits, tracks – in coordination with PM and Corporate
  • Receives, reviews for compliance, submits and tracks subcontractor certified payrolls & labor law compliance forms (i.e. apprenticeships, unions)
  • Provides direct correspondence/assistance to Corporate as needed in communication for Insurance, Billing, Labor Relations, Posting of Notices, etc.

  • 3+ years related office experience.

Construction Project Manager

Now Hiring: Construction Project Manager

SUMMARY

The Project Manager (PM) estimates projects and is responsible for the projects’ budget.  The PM is responsible for maintaining or improving the profitability of each project.  The PM works with the Project Superintendent and Quality Control Manager (QC) assigned to each project.  The Project Superintendent and QC Manager answer directly to the PM.  The PM is the primary point of contact with the client or end user, and as such, the PM must maintain good client relations.  The PM continues looking for more opportunities with existing clients as well as new clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provides oversight of company contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensures quality control of all projects, resource allocation and construction standards.
  • Provides Quality Control and Safety guidance and audits same.
  • Leads team and construction progress meetings.
  • Works with proposal team and operations to support winning proposals.
  • Monitors work progress and costs and provide project reports as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors Degree, or higher or 10+ years experience in the construction field and 5+ experience in construction management, or successful completion of a higher degree with a major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology.
  • RS Means estimating experience.

Construction Quality Control Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for the implementation, documentation, and execution of the quality control system of construction projects. The QCM is to ensure projects comply with applicable plans, standards, specifications, and construction practices. This role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection of the work flow process to ensure quality is maintained. College degree is preferred and experience working on federal construction projects is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Quality control oversight on construction projects
• Act independently as a QCM while coordinating all QC functions so as not to delay construction scheduling
• Read and understand specifications, reference codes and standards
• Review and interpret contract drawings
• Ensure all work is in compliance with contract requirements
• Review shop drawings for conformance with project specifications
• Ensure all materials and/or equipment have been tested, submitted and approved.
• Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal
• Prepare daily QC reports and submit on a daily basis to the contracting officer
• Knowledge of QCS/RMS system
• Initial setup and daily management of QCS/RMS functions.
• Timely completion and collection of inspection reports, as required
• Prepare weekly and monthly quality assurance reports
• Inspect field sites and identify any problems or inaccuracies and resolve any differences
• Determine, communicate, and document deficiencies and ensure they are corrected in a timely manner.
• Identify field site safety hazards and take necessary action to eliminate or minimize them
• Hold meetings with all stakeholders, as needed
• Work with co-workers and subcontractors to maintain quality control throughout the project life cycle
• Maintain a testing plan and log
• Conduct all completion inspections including punch-out, pre-final and finals acceptance

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Documented 2 years experience as a QC Manager and 5 or more years of construction experience
• Active USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors certificate.
• Experience with the Army Corps of Engineers and Federal contracting is highly desired
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer software used in the construction field
• LEED knowledge a plus
• Site Safety knowledge a plus
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
• Writes clearly and informatively; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information
• Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens and gets clarification, and responds well to questions

Ensures thorough estimates in order to return profitability to the company and deliver a quality product and service to our customers.

Bid Administration
  • Prepares and maintains status of plan reproduction
  • Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors
  • Prepares subcontractor bid packages
  • Transmits addenda and other bid information to subcontractors
  • Ensures that we have the proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day
  • Contacts supply houses to obtain additional subcontractor bids
  • Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors
  • Enters all relevant information into Timberline software
Project Knowledge
  • Review bid requirements thoroughly and asks follow-up questions on every bid
  • Has a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned
  • Develops RFI’s and clarification and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage and shows interest
  • Performs a comprehensive “bid day” analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades
  • Understands how to fit subs to the size/scope of project
  • Creates bid lists that fit scope of job, ensuring that we have the right subs for the project
  • Minimize exclusions by “doing our homework”
  • Include value-engineering ideas on every bid
  • Consistently follows up on submitted bids and budgets with Architect and/or Construction Manager to close business

SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing hands on accounting services, keeping updated on accounting policies and principles and ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements for the company. The Senior Accountant will have an active role in the monthly account analysis and closings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures safeguard of assets and accuracy of books and records through adequacy of internal accounting controls.
  • Manages and performs accounting functions, including general ledger, revenue management, banking, expense tracking, asset protection, depreciations, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepares journal entries including maintenance of recurring journal entries and allocations.
  • Manages the Balance Sheet, Income Statement and through periodic reporting processes, reconciliations, evaluations, etc.
  • Ensures the monthly and quarterly banking activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provides account reconciliation and analysis of expenses, prepaids, deposits, accrued expenses, investments and leases. Ensures analysis and remediation of costs.
  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Provides effective financial controls for the organization.
  • Manages budget functions and expense to budget reporting.
  • Manages payroll functions. Audits time cards, posts hours and ensures payroll funding.
  • Assists in setting up and maintaining employee files.
  • Works site Project Managers and bookkeepers to ensure that accounting is properly performed.
  • Assists with certification of subcontractors including insurance endorsements, bonding, time tracking, invoicing and payments.
  • Provides training and staff support for applicable staff including accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense and credit card reports, cash control, project setup, billings, and payroll processing.
  • Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Provides regular forecasting and daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting.
  • Assists in the compilation of information for the Company’s annual tax returns
  • Plans, coordinates and executes annual financial audits.
  • Works with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, competency, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business. Seven years experience in accounting or a combination of accounting and education. Five years experience in a financial reporting/general ledger.
  • CPA a plus.
  • Accounting experience in a construction company is a big plus.
  • Work background in the Trades is preferable.
  • Experience with Construction Partner software program is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting controls and Balance Sheet management.
  • Sound economic and financial judgment.
  • Planning and forecasting knowledge.
  • Excellent Word, Outlook and Excel skills. Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • High degree of integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must pass drug screen, criminal and background check. The company is committed to a drug free workplace and pre-employment drug screens are a condition of employment.
